Washington Redskins: Week 7 Fantasy Football news

The Washington Redskins visit the Detroit Lions this week; check out the iSportsWeb fantasy advice for all things HTTR.

Who to start

Last week I said start no one against the stingy Eagles defense (didn’t work out out for everyone, I admit). This week, I say start as many Redskins as ya got. The Rams lackluster offense went off last week against Detroit, which bodes well for a ‘Skins unit that is always capable of putting up points.

Kirk Cousins, QB
The Lions have surrendered the most passing touchdowns in the league (17), and they haven’t exactly been facing a murderer’s row of quarterbacks through six weeks (Andrew Luck, Marcus Mariota, 2016 Aaron Rodgers, Brian Hoyer, Carson Wentz, and Case Keenum). Meanwhile, Cousins has piloted the Redskins to a top five passing offense, and there is still room to grow. Expect Captain Kirk to explode Sunday.

DeSean Jackson, WR
Jackson put together another disappointing performance in Week 6, but he was still targeted nine times. Cousins is looking to get him the ball, these two just need to get back on the same page. This game is a last stand of sorts for D-Jax; if he can’t muster up anything against a Lions defense that was just worked over top by Kenny Britt, then he probably just becomes a bench depth piece for the rest of the season. But at least give him one last chance against this vulnerable secondary to see what he can do.

Matt Jones, RB
Jones put up another nice game last week, and is now averaging a robust 4.9 yards per carry. Detroit is giving up almost 110 yards per game on the ground, but they have only allowed one rushing touchdown, knocking down Jones’ value a bit. Still, he is a lead back averaging almost five yards a rush against a bad defense; he deserves strong consideration for your RB2 spot.

Who to sit

Redskins D/ST
Detroit’s offense is very capable of putting up points in a hurry. On the flip side, the Redskins defense is very capable of giving up points in a hurry. Not a good combination, both on the field and in fantasy. Stay away from the ‘Skins D.

Injury updates

Jordan Reed, TE
Reed missed week 6 against Philadelphia with a concussion, and is listed as questionable for this Sunday. It is anyone’s bet on if he plays or not, so keep an eye on the injury report throughout the week (and look at backup Vernon Davis on the waiver wire as a potential replacement option).

Under-the-radar options

Jamison Crowder, WR
The second-year man out of Duke has picked up where he left off in 2015. He is one of Cousins favorite targets on underneath routes, and he has shown a nose for the end zone, scoring four times through six games (including a punt return TD). If Reed is out for another week, Crowder will get even more balls thrown his way.

My week-by-week predictions through six weeks:
